young me: Did we get it all

old me: No

young me: Why?? what happened?

old me: We didn't have to get it all

young me: But we are ambitious! What do you mean we didn't have to get it all? So we just gave up? Became the toothless philosophers we were afraid of turning into?

old me: No, in fact we strove for mastery and perfection in every aspect of our life, had a lot of successes and some failures,but we had a good run for sure

young me: Then what do you mean we didn't get it all, what does we didn't have to get it all mean?

old me: It means we have always had what was important, it means we love, and we are loved, it means we have something to do that has meaning and impact, and it means we have a hope beyond the grave.
