Tents are temporary
As a child of God, you are called to live in tents,
As Abraham did,
Tents are temporary, and a reminder that this world is not our home.
It may in divine wisdom be a call to simplicity, or a call to unshackle from the binds of this world,
It may be a call to experience joy,
It may be a call to freedom,
But its still a call to live in tents.
Our earthly ambitions should live in tents,
Our property should fit in tents,
Our grand gestures should be in tents,
Our loyalty and desires for things of this world should fit in tents,
Our pursuits in this world should fit in a tent,
Our happiness from the things of this world should fit in that tent,
Our pain and sorrow from this world should fit in that tent,
Our disappointments and life's greatest heartaches should fit in that tent,
Our greatest achievements of this world in all its glitz and glamour should fit in that tent.
Our blessing may be abundant,
Spoils from this world immeasurable,
Food filling,
Pasture on the horizons beyond what our eyes can see,
Blessing pressed down, shaken together and running over,
But we should enjoy it in tents,
For tents are temporary, and a reminder that this world is not our home
