Fatherhood - An answer to the anti-type

I have an amazing father.

Growing up I used to be a much more irrationally stubborn person, not much has changed though, I just adult better.

And my mother jokes that I was sent to teach my father patience 😂. An impatient father couldn’t raise me, so my father became patient…

I was strong willed and without a firm hand Id have been lost, so my father developed a firm hand

I wasn’t so confident as a child (sounds ironic if you know me), so my father became my number one fan

I used to give up on things and get distracted very easily, so my father became an accountability partner. In some moments he seemed to push too hard, but now looking back - I owe him the grit I have

I used to be playful, jumpy and rowdy, so my father became a calming influence, so much so people think this cool calm demeanor is who I actually am - if only they knew.

He reminds me of our heavenly father, God in his divide wisdom becomes what we need, in our times of need…

He becomes our father,

he becomes our healer,

he becomes our provision ,

he becomes our peace,

he becomes our ambition,

he becomes our protection,

He becomes our victory,

He becomes the well from which the longings of this world can be satisfied.

I've never seen an architect as precise as God, a botanist as imaginative as God, a Healer as transformative as God, an Engineer as thorough as God, a creator as powerful as the God of city beyond Orion's gates fail to cater to the needs of his most minuscule object,

Surely the divine graces of the one who has numbered the hair on your head can cater to your deepest, most ardent longing!
